What are leadership skills?
Leadership skills can be taught and when practised, the Leader can become very proficient with the technicalities of leadership.
These skills include running one-to-one meetings and coaching of reports, conducting group presentations and workshops, functional time management, strategic planning, the ability to successfully roll out change, high level communication, delegation and giving and receiving information.
Perhaps the most important skill of a Leader is to have a Vision, and then employ strategic thinking, action taking and the ability to inspire followers into relevant action to achieve the realisation of the Vision. The Leader must be taking people and the organisation somewhere. If there is no direction, there can be no leadership.
